How many children are in the small group sessions?
In my Eleven Plus classes, I have a maximum of 4 students and in my KS2 sessions, there are a maximum of 5 students.
This deliberate choice ensures that each student receives personalised attention and enables me to thoroughly assess their progress.
How do your online group sessions work?
My online sessions are highly interactive, utilizing an online whiteboard that supports teacher-led instruction, collaborative work, and independent tasks.
We begin each session with a quick starter activity, often related to the previous lesson, allowing students to engage immediately while others log in. If weekly homework is included, I may use this time to review any challenging questions with your child.
Following the starter, we focus on a specific objective, gradually developing the skill through guided tasks.

I tutor English and maths for Key Stage Two.
Can my child have a trial session?

Are you a qualified teacher?
Yes, I am. I qualified in 2013 and worked in physical schools for 5 years.
What are your qualifications?
I am a qualified primary school teacher turned tutor so you don’t get more qualified than me!
I have a BA (Hons) degree in English and History, a PGCE in Primary Education with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Online Education.
When teaching, I was both Primary English Lead and Head of Key Stage Two.

What is your teaching experience?
I spent most of my teaching career in Year 6, preparing students for their SATs. The SATs test children on everything they have learnt during Key Stage Two so you gain an excellent understanding of all aspects of the curriculum from Y3-Y6. I also spent one year in Year 3, one year in Year 5 and a short amount of time in Year 4.
Whilst teaching, I also spent three years as the whole school English Lead and Key Stage Two Lead.

Do you offer face to face tutoring?
I exclusively tutor online and find it effective for most children. It's convenient for everyone and allows the use of some great digital tools.
Does my child have to have their camera on?
If your child is comfortable, I prefer them to have their camera and microphone on during sessions. However, if this causes discomfort, they may keep them off and communicate via chat. Over time, most children become more comfortable using their microphones to participate.
