What's included?

  • A notebook for your child's stories
  • A specially developed workbook
  • A set of resources for use in the sessions

What do we do?

In the live sessions, we usually spend the first session planning or generating ideas and then, in the second session, the children have time to write up their piece. We will then look at a second area of writing and continue in the same way. This could be developing a character then writing a description of them, or planning part of a story and writing that section.
There are optional tasks that children can complete between sessions but these are not a requirement.

Spring Term Writing Club Courses

If you have previously attended one of my courses and do not require another resources pack, or you would prefer to print the workbook yourself and provide your own resources, please use the code NOWRITINGPACK at checkout. This will remove £10 from the course price (the cost of the pack and postage). *You will need to print the workbook before the first session.
  • For children in Year 3 to Year 6
  • 6 week long course 
  • from Sunday 9th March to Sunday 13th April
  • 60 minute sessions (5:15-6:15pm)
  • Stimulus: Narnia / The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
  • Topics taught: 1) Setting and Character Description  
    2) Story Writing - focusing on build-up, climax and resolution
  • Skills: Figurative language, relative clauses and parenthesis, sentence openers
